Juniper and lavender lead, with thyme threading a savoury, herbal line through the middle. The signature is rarer still: Black Forest truffle, folded in alongside mineral-rich mountain spring water at a family distillery running since 1844. Earthy, woody and unusual, with a long, lingering close. A gin with a secret.

Description
Boar comes from a small family distillery deep in the Black Forest, distilling with heart, hand and wood since 1844. Sustainability runs through the place: the stills are heated with timber from the distillery's own forest, the power comes from rooftop solar, the water from the farm's own spring, and the botanicals from regional farmers. What sets the gin apart is its most unusual ingredient, the rare Black Forest truffle, refined together with that mineral-rich mountain spring water. It has twice been named Gin of the Year at the Meininger competition.
The nose is classic and resinous, juniper meeting lavender. The palate carries juniper, lavender and thyme, with the truffle lending an earthy, woody depth beneath, before a long, lingering finish. Its character takes happily to almost any tonic, so build it into a G&T with a twist of lemon zest and a sprig of rosemary.
