Grain lends a light, sweet frame while the malts bring depth. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, lending coconut and vanilla. The whiskies are married and rested before bottling. A period of marrying lets the whiskies settle together. The result is a soft, sweet, oily Scotch with a creamy oak depth. Scotland's grain distilleries are the quiet backbone of its blends. Aged grain has become prized as a category in its own right. Aged grain such as Cameronbridge brings coconut, vanilla and a buttery oak to a blend.
