Description
Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 2015 RWCo (Roger's Whisky Company) is a blended malt Scotch from Roger's Whisky Company. It marries malts with Glen Scotia lending a salty, coastal note. Its water is drawn from Crosshill Loch above the town.
Glen Scotia lends a salty, oily, coastal note to the whisky. Ex-Bourbon casks held it, the gentle American oak letting the briny make lead. The slow distillation and shell and tube condensers give the oily Glen Scotia body. It runs a single pair of stills and shell and tube condensers for a slow, oily make. The cool, salt laden Campbeltown air gives a slow, coastal maturation in the warehouses. It is one of only three working distilleries left in Campbeltown, with Springbank and Glengyle. Crosshill Loch water and a long ferment give the oily, coastal Glen Scotia make. It sits on High Street in Campbeltown, on the Kintyre peninsula on the west coast. Its malt comes from Greencore Maltings in southwest Scotland.
At cask strength 54% it is full bodied. Sea salt, citrus and a salted toffee run through it, oily and coastal. A baked apple and a sea salt lift it. The finish is rounded, salted and oily. A characterful blended malt Scotch.
