Black Death London Dry trades on a provocative name and an iconic skull design, but the gin inside is a straight, traditionally distilled London Dry. Produced by Burlington Bottling using classic methods, it leans on a tight set of botanicals with juniper firmly in charge, supported by fresh citrus, fine herbs and a measured spice. The theatre is on the outside; the liquid is honest, classic gin.

The nose is intense with juniper, fresh citrus and the warm spice of coriander and angelica root. The palate is dry and balanced, strong juniper with lively citrus accents and a harmonious herbal note, before a long, gently spicy, refreshingly dry finish. It takes a quality tonic and a twist of lemon zest with ease, and stands up well in a Negroni.
