Big Peat 15th Anniversary

Big Peat 15th Anniversary is a blended malt Scotch from Douglas Laing, an all Islay vatting with Caol Ila at its core. The Big Peat label gathers Islay malts into one peaty vatting, with the cartoon fisherman on the front.

Caol Ila's elegant smoke gives the blend its coastal, citrus edge. A wine cask shaped it, the fruit meeting the spirit. Active wood frames the smoke without smothering the citrus beneath. Olive oil and lemon sit at the heart of the Caol Ila character. The clean spirit shows the cask clearly, which is why it suits so many wood types. A clean smoke and a coastal salt define the distillery style. Diageo's Special Releases have featured both peated and unpeated Caol Ila. Phenols from the peat smoke carry the medicinal, lemony edge through the years. Maturation by the sea gives the malt its mineral, sea spray character.

Undiluted at 50%, it is powerful. A coastal peat smoke runs through it, with lemon, brine and a soft oil over a sweet fruit. A maritime salt and a lemon lift run through it. The finish is clean, smoky and maritime. A characterful smoky blended malt Scotch.
