Bielle is one of the Marie-Galante distilleries known for cane variety experiments and high proof blancs, and this Serie Odyssee Dynamik 2019 is a young distillery bottling at a punchy 55%. It is rhum agricole proper, distilled from fresh pressed sugarcane juice on a column still, then given three years in ex-bourbon wood, enough to take the raw edge off without burying the cane character.

The nose is lively and a touch spirit forward, with green apple, citrus and a vegetal sugarcane note, while the palate brings vanilla from the barrel alongside that fruity, sour cane sap. It closes dry, with sugarcane, citrus and a slight astringency that marks it as a vigorous young agricole rather than a mellow old one. At cask strength it rewards a few drops of water, which opens the orchard fruit and softens the bite. A characterful island rhum for drinkers who want freshness and proof over polish.
