Bielle Rumclub Private Selection Exclusively bottled for Rum Depot 2023

Bielle Rumclub Private Selection is a Marie-Galante agricole from the Bielle distillery, distilled from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice and bottled by Spirit of Rum for Rum Depot. Bielle is known for cane-variety experiments and high-proof bottlings, and this single cask, just over two years old, lands squarely in that ambitious tradition.

Despite its youth, ex-bourbon ageing has produced a strikingly fruity rum rather than a fierce one: the nose is full of tropical and yellow fruit with floral notes and little of the sharp ester funk, while the palate carries that fruit alongside a spicy barrel edge, closing floral, spicy and cane-sweet. Bottled without sweetening at full cask strength, it stays clean and dry, the cane and fruit doing all the work. At a towering 73.9% it demands water, after which the fruit blooms remarkably for so young a rum.
