Description
Bicicletas y Peces comes from Family Owned Wineries, a venture begun in 2013 by two Spanish families with a long winemaking background, one team from Celler Tianna Negre in Mallorca and the other from Bodegas Juan Gil in Jumilla, working local grapes across several appellations. This white is Sauvignon Blanc from Rueda, the high plateau of Castilla y Leon where vineyards sit at altitude on stony, free draining soils. The elevation brings a marked swing between hot days and cold nights that locks in aromatics and keeps the acidity fresh, exactly what Sauvignon Blanc needs. Made young and unoaked, with a cool fermentation in tank, the wine keeps its bright primary fruit and a crisp, direct line, with no wood to soften the edge. The style here leans to the riper, tropical side of Sauvignon Blanc, with mango, pineapple and ripe melon alongside the grape green, citrus freshness. Expect a pale colour, an expressive nose, and a juicy, zesty palate that finishes clean and dry. Drink it young and well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.
