A Nicaraguan distilled in 2000 and bottled at twelve years by London merchant Berry Bros and Rudd, raised in ex-bourbon and held at 46%, leaning to the cleaner, drier end of the Spanish-style spectrum.
Description
Berry Bros and Rudd Finest Nicaraguan Rum 2000 is a twelve year old molasses rum selected by the long-established London wine and spirits merchant. Berry Bros bottles in the natural, merchant-led tradition, and Nicaraguan rum as a rule sits at the drier, cleaner and more spirit-forward end of the Spanish-style family.
Matured in ex-bourbon and bottled at 46%, it should show the soft Central American profile of vanilla, light caramel and oak spice, but with the leaner, slow-aged character the country is known for rather than heavy sweetness. A straightforward and honest aged Nicaraguan in the Berry Bros house style.
