Berliner Luft Holunder is a floral variation on the Schilkin peppermint liqueur from Berlin, bottled at 18% in 70cl. It pairs the brand's signature peppermint with elderflower, the wider range's faint anise, wormwood and gentian frame sitting beneath. In the modern flavoured peppermint style it leans light and floral rather than bittersweet, an easy crossover between a mint liqueur and an elderflower one.

The nose is fresh peppermint, floral elderflower and a light sweetness, the palate refreshingly minty and fruity-sweet with gentle elderflower and subtle herbal notes, the finish cooling and long with a floral close. Its job in a glass is floral lift and cooling sweetness, which suits sparkling mixed drinks: an elderflower mint spritz with sparkling wine and soda, or a Hugo twist that swaps in this liqueur for the usual elderflower. Pour it well chilled as a shot or over ice. Serve cold for the freshest mint.
