Bentley Pipe Company B13 Rum

A 13 year old Barbados rum bottled by the Bentley Pipe Company, sitting at the soft and approachable end of the island's range. At 40% and matured in ex-bourbon oak, it is built for easy, low intensity sipping rather than cask strength drama.

The profile is firmly sweet and pastry like: cinnamon and creme brulee on the nose, custard, milk chocolate and pear on the palate, and a finish of almond, marzipan and a tonka edge. It is listed as unsweetened, though the rounded, confectionery character and mild body lean dessert ward, so it is best understood as a gentle after dinner pour. Smooth and undemanding, it trades the toffee and banana backbone of classic Bajan rum for something softer and sweeter.
