Description
Bellevue is a Marie Galante distillery, eco-minded and solar-powered, that supplies much of the independent bottling trade as well as its own labels. This Habitation Bellevue VSOP is a four-year aged rum built from a blend of molasses and fresh sugar-cane juice, so it sits in a softer space than a pure cane-juice agricole.
Maturation in ex-bourbon wood gives a light, fruity and floral profile: fresh, ripe orchard and tropical fruit, vanilla and plum, with the oak adding a gentle woody frame rather than heavy spice. At 45% it stays approachable and easy, the molasses component lending roundness while the cane keeps it fresh. Pleasant and undemanding, this is an everyday aged Guadeloupe rum best enjoyed without overthinking it.
