Belami Legacy Spanish Oak

Belami Legacy Spanish Oak is a single cask distillery bottling from Belami in Vietnam, part of a wave of new producers putting Southeast Asian rum on the map. At three years old and bottled at cask strength from a single barrel, it offers an early look at this emerging origin, a young rum presented undiluted so its character, such as it is at this age, comes through directly.

Despite the Spanish Oak name, the profile leans sweet and fruity rather than deeply woody, the nose and palate both turning on strawberry, confectionery and a candied sweetness, with sweetness carrying into the finish. At 48% the strength gives it some grip, but the youth shows in a profile that stays simple and fruit-forward. This is a single cask from a distillery still developing its voice, an honest, sweet-edged glimpse of Vietnamese rum rather than a long-aged statement.
