Licor Beirao is a traditional Portuguese herbal liqueur, produced since its introduction in 1929 and counted among the country's best known and best loved liqueurs. It is made from a secret blend of two dozen herbs and botanical ingredients, macerated in alcohol and sugar to draw out the herbal and spice character, and bottled at 22%, sweet and balanced in the classic Portuguese style.

The nose is an inviting blend of herbs, citrus and a subtle sugar sweetness, the palate full bodied and sweet, its complex herbal palette dominated by mint, cinnamon and lemon verbena over a gentle fruitiness, finishing long and refreshing. Behind the bar it works as a sweet, aromatic herbal modifier, lifting citrus drinks and lengthening into a refreshing highball, which is why it carries a Beirao Sour or a Licor Beirao Tonic. It is just as good neat or over ice, where the herbal character has room to unfold.
