Fruit and fire in equal measure: hand-picked aronia berries bring a dark, fresh sweetness, wrapped in herbs and a peppery warmth that climbs as the 57.5% takes hold. Made in Styria by master distiller Wolfgang Thomann, with just 180 bottles of this Seebär edition. One for the brave-hearted.

Description
Beerenkräfte distil in the Austrian region of Styria, where Wolfgang Thomann gathers aronia berries by hand and folds them into a careful spread of botanicals, distilling gently so the fruit survives. After the still the gin rests in stainless steel before bottling, and this particular run, the Seebär edition, was capped at just 180 bottles and pushed to a seafaring 57.5%. The blue label and the name nod to life on the high seas: this was made to travel.
The nose opens with intense aronia, fresh herbs and a soft juniper note. The palate is powerful and fruity, the berries' tart sweetness wrapped in herbal and spicy warmth that builds toward a generous, alcohol-rich body. It finishes long and smooth, berry and spice settling together. Mix it into a gin and tonic with fresh berries and a sprig of rosemary, which lifts both the fruit and the herbs.
