Beenleigh Inner Circle Cask Strength is a pot-still Australian rum, aged five years and bottled at a towering 75.9%. Beenleigh is one of Australia's oldest distilleries, and this full-proof, molasses-based release is unapologetically powerful, a heavyweight pour rather than anything gentle.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak, the nose brings cinnamon, roasted notes, barrel and sandalwood, while the palate is roasted, with cinnamon, mango and real intensity. The finish carries barrel, vanilla, wood and roast. Beneath the heat sit dark fruit, heavy oak, spice, chocolate and coffee, and the alcohol is unmistakable at nearly 76%. This is firmly a bottle for seasoned drinkers who enjoy cask-strength spirits and want it darker and oakier still, best approached in tiny measures, often with a little water and a long rest in the glass to let it settle and open.
