Baumann Teufelskräuter Feuerlikör comes from Tiroler Kräuterdestillerie Baumann, an Austrian herb distillery in the Tyrol that has worked with mountain botanicals for over a hundred years. The house leans on Tyrolean mountain spring water, sun ripened fruit and hand picked herbs, roots, seeds and berries supplied by local mountain farmers, with the recipe held close. This particular bottling is a fire liqueur composed of 17 herbs and poured at a substantial 50% ABV, putting it among the stronger entries in the herbal range.

The nose runs herbal and rooty, with lemon root and centaury, while the palate is intense, carrying citrus root, burnet and centaury before a long warming close. The supporting profile of lemon, honey, almond and caramel softens the bitter herb spine. On a back bar its job is heat and a bitter backbone, useful as a digestif shot served chilled, or stirred into hot drinks where the warming herb and citrus root cut through sweetness. It also adds depth to a winter toddy. Keep it sealed and cool, and pour it cold for the cleanest herbal lift.
