Basilico Aperitivo Culinario is a herbal aperitif liqueur from Germany, made by Krugmann and bottled at 20%. Inspired by Italy's modern aperitivo culture, it combines culinary herbs with fresh citrus fruit and a subtle bitterness, with fresh basil at its centre giving the bottle its identity and setting it apart from classic bitter aperitifs. The basil note is the whole idea, an unusual savoury herbal lead for an aperitif liqueur.

The nose is fresh basil with Mediterranean herbs, citrus notes and a fine spiciness, the palate aromatic and balanced with basil, herbs, subtle sweetness and a pleasant bitterness, finishing fresh, spicy and slightly tart. Behind the bar it brings a fresh herbal lift, citrus and a gentle bitter backbone, which makes it a natural for a modern spritz or a creative cocktail built with tonic water, soda or Prosecco. It harmonises with antipasti and light Mediterranean dishes. Serve it well chilled over ice as a refreshing aperitif, or lengthen it for a herbal highball.
