A single cask Haitian cane-juice rum at full strength, naturally sweet with tropical fruit, honeyed caramel, banana and polished oak, creamy and deep at 58.3% when given plenty of time to breathe.
Description
Barbancourt RA Rum 2004 is a single cask Haitian rum from the historic Barbancourt distillery, bottled under the Rum Artesanal label by Heinz Eggert in the unsweetened full-proof tradition. Distilled in 2004 from fresh-pressed cane juice and aged around seventeen years, it arrives at 58.3% from a single barrel.
Barbancourt works in an agricole spirit, distilling cane juice rather than molasses, and this bottling leans into a naturally sweet, fruit-forward profile of banana, tropical fruit and cream toffee, with honeyed caramel and polished oak underneath. The texture is creamy and the finish dry, carrying raisin and young wood. Certified unsweetened, the natural sweetness comes from cask and spirit alone, and it rewards a long rest in the glass to soften the strength and reveal its depth.
