Baluarte Rosado 2023

Baluarte Rosado is made by Grupo Chivite, a quality reference in Navarra since the company's earliest days, under its Baluarte range of fresh, variety-led wines aimed at a younger audience. This rosé is built on Garnacha, the grape that has long defined Navarra rosado. The region's continental climate, with warm summers and cool nights, ripens Garnacha to give generous strawberry fruit while keeping the acidity that holds the wine fresh. The grapes are pressed and the juice fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve the aromatics and the bright pink colour, with no oak so the fruit stays clear and immediate. The wine is a vivid pink. The nose is fruit driven, with ripe strawberry, cherry and red plum, lifted by a floral note. The palate is rounded and generous, the ripe red fruit balanced by fresh acidity into a clean, easygoing finish. This is a straightforward, fruit-forward rosado made for early drinking. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees. It works well as an aperitif and with grilled meats, poultry, rice dishes and lighter fish.
