Description
Bailoni makes its Wachauer Gold apricot liqueur from hand picked, fully ripe Wachau apricots, pressed into juice that serves as the sole source of flavour, aroma and colour, with fine apricot distillates added for depth. The fruit is processed gently to keep its character, and the fruit content runs at twice the legal minimum, which gives the liqueur its intense fresh fruit. It is bottled at 30%.
The nose is sweetish and fruity with ripe apricots, the palate sweet, juicy and fruity with apricot nectar and dried apricots, the finish long and lively with honey notes. Behind the bar it brings genuine stone fruit body, sweetness and colour, a way to add real apricot character to a sparkling serve, a sour or a stirred drink without an artificial edge. It lifts a glass of Prosecco, rounds out a whisky sour, and pours neat over ice or chilled as a fruity aperitif. A clean apricot note for a back bar that wants the fruit itself.
