Description
Baileys created the cream liqueur category in 1974, marrying Irish whiskey with fresh dairy cream in a stable emulsion, and it remains the original and best selling name in its class, sold across more than 150 countries. This variation keeps the classic base and combines the rich flavour of caramel with a surprising salty note, bottled at 17%.
The nose is sweet caramel with a slight hint of salt over light vanilla, the palate creamy and full bodied with sweet caramel, dairy cream and a subtle salty spice that gives it depth, the finish long with a warm caramel flavour and a pleasant salty close. Behind the bar it is a dessert and body ingredient, adding dairy richness and a salted caramel sweetness to a Salted Caramel Martini, a Baileys Salted Caramel Latte or a creamy long drink, and it stands in for cream where caramel depth is wanted. It pours neat or over ice to bring out its flavours. As a dairy product it should be kept cool once opened and used within a few months.
