Attis Bodegas Y Viñedos Xión Albariño 2024

Attis Bodegas y Viñedos is a family winery in the Val do Salnés, the oldest and most maritime sub-zone of D.O. Rías Baixas, set on the hillside of Monte Penaguda facing the Arousa and Pontevedra estuaries. Xión is a single-variety Albariño from the winery's own vineyards, grown in a cool, damp Atlantic climate on granite and sandy soils that carry the salinity typical of the area. The wine is fermented and then aged for about three months on its lees in stainless steel, with no oak. The cool tank ageing protects the grape's bright aromatics, while the lees contact releases mannoproteins that add a fine texture and savoury weight, giving depth while keeping the wine fresh and mineral. The colour is pale straw with green reflections. The nose leads with white peach, lemon and green apple, backed by white flowers and a touch of apricot. The palate is dry, crisp and saline, the lees lending a rounded middle before a long, mineral, sea-fresh finish. Serve well chilled at 9 to 11 degrees.
