Description
ArteNOM Seleccion de 1146 Tequila Anejo is a 100% Blue Weber anejo distilled at La Tequilena, NOM 1146, in the town of Tequila, by master distiller Enrique Fonseca, working largely with highland agave grown around his home town of Atotonilco el Alto. ArteNOM is a curator brand that bottles single distillery expressions under their NOM number, and this anejo is the barrel led member of the range.
The maturation is the heart of it. The tequila rests at least fourteen months in used Cabernet Franc wine casks from the Loire, then a further fourteen months in toasted American white oak that previously held Canadian and Tennessee rye whiskey. The result is deep amber, with butterscotch, citrus, baking spice and vanilla on the nose and toffee, walnut, vanilla custard, orange peel and dark chocolate on a polished, oak balanced palate.
