Spirit was distilled at Lochranza in 1997 and matured sixteen years in a single Oloroso seasoned butt. Bottled in 2013 at 55.8% without chill filtration and without added colour.
Sixteen years of Oloroso butt maturation produces measured sherry compound integration, with the larger butt format slowing the surface area driven extraction rate compared to hogsheads of equivalent age. The cask supplied sotolon, furfural and polyphenol fraction develops alongside the underlying Arran spirit signature, with the 55.8% bottling preserving the lipid ester load and textural weight characteristic of unfiltered cask strength sherry single casks.
