A Belgian market Private Cask drawn from one of the earliest numbered casks of the 2006 production year, with the low cask reference 016 placing it among the very first fillings of that year.

Description
Cask 2006/016 sits within the early single and double digit numbering of the 2006 production year at Lochranza, identifying it as one of the first casks filled in that year's production calendar. This corresponds to spirit produced in the opening working batch after the annual maintenance shutdown. The cask was bottled at fourteen years old in 2021 for the Belgian specialist retail trade through the Private Cask programme.
Spirit was distilled at Lochranza in early 2006 and matured fourteen years in a single ex Bourbon American oak cask. Bottled in 2021 at 51.9% without chill filtration and without added colour, with the 198 bottle outturn reflecting the working yield of the single hogshead after fourteen years of evaporative concentration.
Fourteen years of ex Bourbon maturation produces well integrated cask and spirit layering, with vanillin, whisky lactones and the developing toasted oak sugar fraction sitting in balance with the underlying Arran spirit signature. The 51.9% bottling preserves the textural fullness of the unfiltered spirit, with the long chain fatty acid esters remaining in solution at the natural cask strength.
