Arran Private Cask 12 Years Old 2006

Casks 2006/800463 and 2006/800467 were both filled at Lochranza in the same 2006 production period and matured under identical Oloroso seasoned cask conditions before being bottled at the twelve year point for different European markets. The four cask number difference reflects sequential filling within a single working batch of Oloroso casks, providing direct sister cask comparison material for the Dutch and Belgian Private Cask trade. The 315 bottle outturn for the Belgian bottling sits slightly higher than the 292 bottle Dutch sister, reflecting cask to cask variation in evaporation rate.

Spirit was distilled at Lochranza in 2006 and matured twelve years in single Oloroso seasoned cask 2006/800463. Bottled in 2019 at the natural cask strength of 53.6% without chill filtration and without added colour.

Twelve years of Oloroso cask maturation delivers measured sherry compound integration, with sotolon, furfural and the polyphenol fraction from the original wine ageing developing alongside the underlying Arran spirit signature. The flavour profile of chocolate, cooked fruit, dried fruit, honey, leathery and nutty captures the integrated sherry cask register characteristic of long aged Arran Oloroso single casks at this point in maturation.
