Arran Gold Cream Liqueur

Arran Gold is a cream liqueur from the Isle of Arran Distillers, made on the Scottish island of Arran and bottled at 17%. What sets it apart from many cream liqueurs is its base, real single malt Scotch whisky from Arran rather than a neutral spirit, blended with high quality cream into a velvety liqueur. That malt base gives it a depth and a malty, oak edged character behind the usual cream and vanilla sweetness.

The nose is fresh cream, vanilla and caramel with a hint of malt and oak spice, the palate smooth and full bodied with a balance of sweet cream, honey and toffee against a fine whisky note, finishing long, creamy and warm with vanilla, toasted caramel and a malty edge. Behind the bar it works as a body and dessert ingredient with built in whisky character, adding cream, sweetness and a malt backbone, which makes it a fine pour over ice and a natural enrichment for coffee, hot chocolate or a cream based cocktail. As a cream liqueur it is a dairy product once opened, so keep it cool and use it reasonably fresh.
