Arran Eleven – Private Cask 10 Years Old 2010

The Eleven Private Cask series sits within the broader Arran Private Cask programme as a specifically named release line. The name Eleven functions as the private label identity under which the cask owner bottles, allowing the release to operate under a consistent series identity rather than as a one off private cask bottling. The series uses Oloroso seasoned cask wood for its core releases, with this 2010 vintage 10 Year Old from cask 10/1451 representing one of the entries in the line.

Spirit was distilled at Lochranza in 2010 and matured ten years in a single Oloroso seasoned cask. Bottled in 2020 at 51.1% without chill filtration and without added colour, with the 362 bottle outturn reflecting an Oloroso butt format rather than the smaller hogshead.

Ten years of Oloroso butt maturation produces developing phase sherry compound integration, with the larger cask volume slowing the surface area driven extraction rate compared to hogsheads of equivalent age. The cask supplied sotolon, furfural and polyphenol fraction sits in balance with the underlying Arran spirit signature from the 2010 distillation year, with the 51.1% bottling preserving the full lipid fraction and textural weight of the unfiltered spirit.
