Connoisseurs Choice has evolved across its decades of operation, with the modern releases using batch numbering systems to track individual bottling runs more precisely than the original simple vintage label format. The 1999 vintage stock used falls in the period when Arran was around four to five years into commercial production and beginning to scale its output volumes.

Spirit was distilled at Lochranza in 1999 and matured nineteen years in casks held in the Gordon and MacPhail working inventory before being vatted for the Connoisseurs Choice batch. The cask wood template follows the established Connoisseurs Choice approach of refill American oak hogsheads. Bottled without chill filtration and without added colour.
