Description
La Maison du Whisky was founded in 1956 by Georges Bénitah in Paris and has grown across nearly seven decades into the leading French specialist whisky retailer and bottler. The company's own bottling programme covers a wide range of distilleries through carefully curated cask selections, with single cask single malts from Arran appearing regularly across the catalogue. This 2012 vintage 10 Year Old from cask 2012/2470 was bottled in 2023 for distribution through La Maison du Whisky's French retail network.
Spirit was distilled at Lochranza in 2012 and matured ten years in a single ex Bourbon American oak cask. Bottled in 2023 at 58% without chill filtration and without added colour, with the 206 bottle outturn reflecting the working yield of the single cask after ten years of evaporative concentration.
Ten years of ex Bourbon maturation produces measured cask integration, with vanillin, cis whisky lactones and the toasted sugar layer from American oak hemicellulose breakdown developing alongside the underlying Arran spirit signature from the 2012 distillation year. The 58% cask strength preserves the full lipid fraction and the textural weight of the unfiltered spirit at the natural ABV of the working cask.
