Description
Aroa Bodegas works in D.O. Navarra, a region with a long history of Garnacha rosado, and farms organically with a vegan certification. Larrosa is pure Garnacha Tinta, the warm-climate grape that gives Navarra rosado its generous red fruit. Navarra spans a transition between the cooler, Atlantic-influenced north and the warmer, drier south, and the altitude and cool nights here preserve freshness in the ripe fruit. Low-temperature fermentation is central to the style: keeping the must cool slows the yeasts and gives time for delicate aromatic compounds to develop, producing a wine that is flavourful, aromatic and fresh. Made young and unoaked, the wine keeps its bright primary character. The result is a vivid pink. The nose is fruit-forward, with red berries, cherry and ripe white peach over floral notes and citrus peel. The palate is dry but generous, medium in weight, with ripe Garnacha fruit balanced by fresh acidity and a clean finish. Serve well chilled at around 8 to 10 degrees. It is an easy, food-friendly wine for summer salads, grilled meats and lighter dishes.
