Description
Arette Reposado is a 100% agave tequila from the Orendain family's El Llano distillery in Jalisco, made entirely from estate agave grown on the producer's own land. The brand takes its name from Arete, the horse that carried Humberto Mariles to Mexico's only gold medals in show jumping, and was introduced in 1986 to mark that feat. Eduardo and Jaime Orendain, a former mayor of the town of Tequila among them, represent the fifth generation working agave.
This rested expression spends a short four months in ex bourbon whiskey casks, which give it a pale amber colour and a layer of sweetness over the agave core. The nose leads with a sweet, fruity character of lemon and orange. As with the rest of the line Arette states it uses no glycerol, caramel or oak extract, placing it among the additive-free lowland houses. Bottled at 38%.
