Description
Arette Fuerte 101 Blanco is a 100% agave tequila from the Orendain family, made at the El Llano distillery, NOM 1109, in the Jalisco lowlands. Fuerte means strong: this Blanco is bottled at 101 proof, or 50.5%, to deliver a more pressing, concentrated agave spirit suited to cocktails or to drinkers who want more intensity from their tequila.
After a 15 hour roast the agave is shredded and fermented six to seven days with a special yeast in the distillery's original cement tanks, then distilled and twice filtered before bottling. At full proof the palate is direct, with cooked agave, vegetal grass and cinnamon giving way to a stronger run of agave, an oily grassy note and black pepper. The finish turns lightly spicy with butterscotch, baking spice and a touch of liquorice. Bottled additive-free.
