Arehucas Añejo Selección Familiar

Arehucas Anejo Seleccion Familiar is a twelve year old rum from Arehucas on Gran Canaria, the long established Canary Islands distillery, matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at a gentle 40%. It sits in the soft, sweet Spanish influenced tradition that the islands are known for.

The aroma is sweet and inviting, caramel and toffee laced with honey and ripe papaya and mango, with a slightly alcoholic lift. The palate is full bodied and rounded, leaning on honey and molasses with caramel and a savoury tobacco note, while the finish turns earthy and sweet with toffee. It is an uncomplicated, easygoing pour rather than a layered one, the kind of mellow after dinner rum that suits drinkers who like their aged rum smooth, sweet and undemanding.
