An 8 year old single cask Ardmore released by Douglas Laing in 2025 under the Provenance range, distilled in 2017 and bottled at 61% natural strength. Douglas Laing is the Glasgow based family operation founded in 1948, with the Provenance range carrying single cask single malt releases at natural strength. The DL prefix on cask numbering identifies the cask source as Douglas Laing's own warehouse system. 218 bottles for the Dutch market from cask #DL 19614. The 2017 vintage is the youngest Ardmore stock currently in circulation, falling under Beam Suntory ownership at distillation and now reflecting full Suntory Global Spirits ownership following the 2024 corporate rebrand from Beam Suntory to Suntory Global Spirits.

Filled at 63.5% into a single ex Bourbon refill American oak cask in 2017, the spirit matured at Kennethmont under the steam heating regime in place since 2001. Eight years brought the strength to 61%, indicating dry warehouse conditions across the period with ethanol concentration rising rather than falling.

Refill Bourbon at this strength delivers distillery character with concentrated intensity. Cis whisky lactone reads as coconut and pine, vanillin from oak lignin shows as light custard. Steam era distillate sits at the centre with apple and pear esters from the Kerry yeast component. The 12 to 14 ppm peat phenols read as heather smoke, dry leaf and earthy phenolic at moderate integrated intensity. Honeyed barley closes a warm long finish at full strength.
