Description
An 11 year old single cask Ardmore released by Blackadder in 2022 under the Raw Cask range, distilled in 2010 and bottled at 60.6% natural strength. Blackadder operates from Sweden under the ownership of Robin and Stephanie Tucek, with Raw Cask as their signature range bottled without filtration and including cask sediment for unfiltered delivery. Cask #802995 sits in a 2010 Blackadder Raw Cask cluster alongside the bottler's #803497 and #803499 releases, suggesting a parcel of consecutive casks acquired through a common broker channel. 200 bottles for the European market. The 2010 vintage falls in the early Beam Global ownership period at Kennethmont.
Filled at 63.5% into a single ex Bourbon refill American oak cask in 2010, the spirit matured at Kennethmont under the post 2001 steam heating regime. Eleven years brought the strength to 60.6%, indicating dry warehouse conditions across the period.
Raw Cask format delivers concentrated distillery character with cask sediment intact. Cis whisky lactone reads as coconut and pine, vanillin from oak lignin shows as light custard, with sediment adding texture and depth. Steam era distillate sits prominently at the centre with apple and pear esters from the Kerry yeast component and a citric edge. The 12 to 14 ppm peat phenols read as heather smoke, dry leaf and earthy phenolic at moderate integrated intensity. Nutty mossy notes and dried fruit close a long finish.
