Arcane Flamboyance

Arcane Flamboyance is a Mauritian agricole-style rum, made from fresh sugarcane juice on a column still. Mauritius sits outside the French AOC, so while the spirit is agricole in method it is bottled as cane-juice rum rather than rhum agricole. This single-cask release leans on an unusual cherry-wood maturation that steers it well away from the classic grassy blanc profile.

Even at a young age the cask does the talking, layering cherry and red-fruit notes over vanilla and a gentle herbal lift of mint and lemongrass. The palate carries sherry-like sweetness alongside banana and chocolate, finishing fruity and barrel-led. This is honestly a softer, dessert-leaning style rather than a dry sipper, and at 40% it pours easy. It works as a relaxed evening glass for drinkers who enjoy fruit-forward, lightly sweet rums and want to taste what a wine-cask twist does to cane juice.
