Antoine Lienhardt is among Burgundy’s most talked-about young natural growers, working without added sulphur in the Cote de Nuits. His Aligote spends twelve months in used French oak and comes through crisp and precise, with lemon, green apple and a chalky, herbal snap.

Description
Antoine Lienhardt farms in the Cote de Nuits alongside his sister Heloise, making organic, biodynamic and vegan-friendly wines with as little intervention as possible and no added sulphur. Aligote is Burgundy's other white grape, planted here on the limestone-rich clay that runs through the Cote, and it holds onto bright natural acidity even in warm vintages like 2023. That acidity is the backbone of the wine, giving it drive and a stony, cool feel. Fermentation runs on wild yeasts, and the wine then rests twelve months in used French oak barrels, which add texture and a light roundness without any obvious woody flavour, since the barrels are old. Ageing on the fine lees fills out the middle and softens the edges. The colour is pale straw with a green tint. The nose is precise, with lemon, green apple and white flowers over a chalky, herbal note, and the palate is taut, energetic and dry, finishing clean and mineral. Serve well chilled at 9 to 11 degrees.
