Description
This 1997 vintage is a 14 year old anCnoc, bottled in 2011 for Germany, part of the distillery's annual vintage releases. Knockdhu distillery, in Banffshire, was named anCnoc to keep it distinct from Knockando. Opened in 1894, it ranks among the country's smallest distilleries.
Quiet for years, the distillery reopened in 1989. Fourteen years in ex-Bourbon rounds the spirit, the wood drawing out vanilla and soft oak spice.
Bottled at 46%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee over the fresh, fruity malt. A vintage anCnoc.
