Description
The 18 Years Old is an older core anCnoc, the single malt of Knockdhu distillery at Knock in Banffshire, matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso. The whisky is named anCnoc, Gaelic for the hill, to set it apart from Knockando.
Production resumed under Inver House in 1989. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks, the sherry adds a darker layer to the bourbon base.
Bottled at 46%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin. Expect a malt extract note, citrus, dried fruit, honey, old wood and vanilla. A rounded older anCnoc.
