Bittersweet coca leaf threads through a kaleidoscope of sweet nuance, with fermented blue fig lending a dark, jammy depth and the merest flick of underground root. Distilled in Belgium from Peruvian coca, it finishes long, warm and unhurried. A gin that wears its memento-mori philosophy in 24-carat gold leaf.

Description
Amuerte's Coca Gin began as an unlikely conceit: a Belgian distillate built around Peruvian coca leaves, the same plant Inca runners once chewed against hunger and altitude. The Blue Edition deepens the idea with the ancient blue fig, a fruit the Greeks prized as a luxury good from the sixth century BC, here fermented and distilled to exceptional purity before being married to the coca and classic botanicals. Havi Cruz and Adrian Dominguez dressed the result in gold leaf, which feels right for something this deliberately theatrical.
The nose is dry and faintly medicinal with bitter coca leaf; the palate turns complex and balanced, sweet fig jam folding into herbal bitterness and a whisper of root. It closes long, warm and gently sweet. Pour over a neutral tonic or a ginger beer and garnish with fresh fig.
