Amarula Coconut Based Vegan is a plant based version of the South African Marula liqueur made by Distell, built on coconut milk in place of dairy cream and bottled at 15.5%. It was developed for guests avoiding animal products or lactose who still want the Marula character, pairing the wild Marula fruit with coconut milk for a creamy, tropical liqueur that pours like a cream liqueur without containing dairy. The coconut base is the story, carrying both the texture and a tropical flavour of its own.
The nose is gentle and tropical with coconut, Marula and fine vanilla, the palate full bodied, creamy and harmonious with caramel, vanilla and fresh coconut, finishing long, soft and exotic with a fruity Marula edge. Behind the bar it brings creamy coconut body, vanilla and caramel sweetness without dairy, which makes it a natural for a vegan pina colada, a white coconut serve or an Amarula coffee. Pour it neat over ice for its creamy, tropical character, or build it into a dairy free dessert cocktail. Treat it as a plant based product once opened and keep it cool.
