Fresh and grassy on the nose, juniper meeting dried lemon balm, cucumber and a green flick of hops. Made in Seefeld in the Tyrol with fourteen botanicals and mountain water, it carries a clean alpine cool. Harmonious and long, it asks only for tonic and a view.
Description
Allegra takes its name from a Romansh greeting of the Engadin, a word meaning roughly rejoice and enjoy the day. Made in Seefeld in the Tyrol by founders Bjorn Birke and Sorin-Gabriel Albrecht in partnership with a local distillery, it uses fourteen botanicals and fresh mountain water, and each bottle comes with a handmade wooden stand to show it off.
The nose is fresh and grassy, juniper joined by dried lemon balm, cucumber, citrus and a green note of hops. The palate is harmonious and cool, juniper, lemon balm and cucumber playing together cleanly, and the finish runs long. Best enjoyed neat to catch its alpine clarity, or with tonic and a slice of cucumber for an unhurried mountain refresher.
