Description
Agas do Tempo is a Ribeiro white from Paraguas, the Avia Valley venture of grower Felicisimo Pereira Freijido, built around old vines reclaimed across the appellation. It blends Treixadura with Albarino, Caino Blanco and Loureiro, the classic Galician field mix, on the granite and sand soils typical of inland Ribeiro. The setting is cool and Atlantic-influenced, with high rainfall, and the free-draining granitic ground preserves the bright acidity that runs through the wine. Made young and unoaked, it is vinified to protect primary fruit and aromatic lift rather than to add texture, which keeps each variety legible in the glass. The colour is a lively greenish yellow. The nose leads with green apple and juicy pear, backed by white flowers and a citrus edge, while Albarino and Loureiro add stonefruit and a floral top note. The palate is fresh and dry, medium bodied, with a clean saline finish. Treixadura fills the middle while Caino Blanco lends grip and acidity. Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.
