Afro-Caribbean Rum Equiano Light

Equiano Light is a blend from the Afro Caribbean Rum brand, drawing on stock from multiple countries and combining both molasses and fresh sugarcane juice in its make up. Column distilled and bottled at 43 percent, it is built to be approachable and versatile, an easygoing rum with a fresher cane lift than most soft blends.

The cane juice component brings a green, grassy brightness that sets it apart, with a nose of sugarcane, vanilla, spice and pecan moving into a creamy palate of sugarcane, lemon peel and citrus, then a short, mellow finish of spice, cane and light oak. Ageing in ex bourbon keeps the wood gentle and the body light. The result is a relaxed, sociable rum that works neat or over ice and slips easily into cocktails, with enough character to stay interesting for casual sipping.
