ABK6 Orange Liqueur

ABK6 Orange Liqueur comes from France, made by the Cognac house ABK6 under Maison Abecassis in the Cognac region. It is an orange liqueur bottled at a dry 40%, built on the aroma of ripe oranges, with the producer leaning on its background in spirits to deliver a clean, balanced citrus liqueur rather than a sugary one. At full strength it sits in the same role on a back bar as a classic triple sec.

The nose is intense orange with fresh citrus and a subtle sweet edge, the palate fruity and full with ripe orange and zest, closing on a medium, aromatic citrus finish. That dry strength is the point behind the bar, where it adds orange flavour and a bittersweet lift while tightening a sour rather than padding it with sugar. It is a natural call for a Margarita, a Sidecar or a Cosmopolitan, and stands in wherever a recipe reaches for an orange liqueur.
