An Aberfeldy 8 year old bottled by Douglas Laing under the Premier Barrel series in the firm's signature ceramic decanter format, released for the Polish specialist trade. 227 bottles in total. Premier Barrel has been one of Douglas Laing's identifying lines since the 1990s, with the square ceramic decanter now functioning as a visual marker of the series and a counterweight to the glass bottle standard across the rest of their range.

Long fermentation Aberfeldy wash from the four still configuration, distilled at the Highland distillery in Perthshire under John Dewar & Sons (Bacardi) ownership. Aged 8 years in ex Bourbon American oak at Douglas Laing's warehouses. Bottled at 46% in the Premier Barrel ceramic decanter with reduced chill filtering and no caramel adjustment.

Ex Bourbon American oak at 8 years produces a fresh oak signature with vanillin sitting at moderate levels from early lignin breakdown, light cis whisky lactones, and hemicellulose driven furfural giving the soft caramel and toasted cereal note. Aberfeldy's distillate character is more prominent at this age than the wood: medium chain ethyl esters (ethyl laurate, ethyl myristate) and heavier fusel alcohols build the heather honey and beeswax base, with the ester volatility lifting on the nose at the 46% bottling strength.
