Description
Distilled at Aberfeldy in 1991 and matured 29 years in a single ex Bourbon cask numbered 7432, bottled by the Artful Dodger Whisky Collective in 2021 at 46% for the global market. 269 bottles in total. Artful Dodger is a Polish based indie bottling collective focused on older Scottish malt single casks for the European specialist trade. Sister cask to Milroy's of Soho's 7434 and Jewish Whisky Company's 7435, both from the same 1991 Aberfeldy parcel held in the same warehouse partner across the late United Distillers and early Bacardi era stock.
Long fermentation Aberfeldy spirit from the four still post expansion configuration, distilled in 1991 in the United Distillers ownership period. Filled into a single ex Bourbon cask and aged 29 years before bottling at 46% with reduced chill filtering and no caramel adjustment. The bottling sits below natural cask strength after nearly three decades of slow evaporation.
Twenty nine years in refill American oak runs the wood extraction near its full contribution: vanillin from lignin breakdown sits at upper concentration, cis whisky lactones contribute clearly framed coconut and dill, and furfural plus 5 hydroxymethylfurfural from hemicellulose provide developed caramel and pastry. Aberfeldy's house ester profile (ethyl laurate, ethyl myristate, heavier alcohols) carries the heather honey through, with three decades of slow oxidation layering polymerised polyphenols, acetal compounds and soft tobacco onto the honey base.
