It is a Virgin Islands molasses rum at a gentle 40 percent, made for relaxed after-dinner sipping rather than analytical study.
The character is unmistakably A.H. Riise: tropical fruit to the fore, mango, papaya and apricot, wrapped in caramel, vanilla and warm baking spice, with a creamy, lightly spicy finish.
